Introduction

There is a LDAP server on campus that you can setup with Address Book, which would give you simpler functionality as web campus staff directory at www.acs.utah.edu/prod/hrbin/campus-directory. Setting up the Address Book in Mac OS X will allow you to automatically lookup emails for persons in mail other mail clients that support it.

Note, searching the LDAP directory is restricted to campus subnets. So, if you want to use it off-campus you will need to connect to the campus VPN.

Launch Address Book, open up "Preferences", then select LDAP. Click the "+" to create the "U of U LDAP" configuration.

Address Book -> Preferences -> LDAP

Enter the following information:
  1. For "Name" ,University of Utah LDAP or whatever you want to call it.
