Drobo is a data storage peripheral, developed by Data Robotics, Inc., which interfaces up to four 3.5" SATA hard drives with a computer via High-Speed USB 2.0 or FireWire (2nd generation only). It automatically formats and distributes data between the different hard drives inside of it, using storage virtualization technology to back up each drive onto the other ones. Each drive is hot swappable, which allows a user to switch out drives and continue to work with files stored on the system without powering down and reconfiguring the array. Drobo can both sense and repair data corruption, providing protection and redundancy against unexpected faults by backing up to other disks in the device.

This presentation included a live demo of the actual product with a walking through a typical installation/setup scenario.
