Do you use BOM files for the transcript files? Or have you ever considered using BOM files?

BOM files are quite close to radmind transcripts. Several people have suggested ways to convert BOM files to transcripts using simple shell scripts.

BOM files could only be used with package installers, and do not account for pre/post scripts that could modify the file system with package installers. So, using BOM file is useful for "rough" guide on installation for package installers, but doesn't account for third-party installers like Vise, InstallAnyware or Unix installers, and pre/post scripts that can modify the file system.
