Notable Updates

  • SuperDuper - 2.1.3
    • Can disable ACL copying in Advanced options
    • The What's going to happen? section now says when the destination is an image
    • No longer allows erroneous restarting/startup from an image
    • Scheduling now works with multi-byte characters in volume names
    • Scheduling now works under 10.3.x for Japanese language users
  • Microsoft Office 2004 - 11.2.5
    • This update fixes vulnerabilities in Office 2004 for Mac that an attacker can use to overwrite the contents of your computer's memory with malicious code. This update also fixes issues in Microsoft Entourage 2004 for Mac and includes all of the improvements released in all previous Office 2004 updates.
  • Boot Camp - 1.0.2 Beta
    • Unfortunately, Apple has provided no documentation regarding enhancements in this release. The disk image download itself has a modification date of July 10th (yesterday) at 9:17 AM, but the files therein -- including BootCampAssistant.pkg, the installer for the Boot Camp Assistant -- carries a modification date of June 19th.

      It is presumed that this update includes revised versions of the Windows XP Mac drivers, so you should burn a new drivers disk (using Boot Camp Assistant) after installing the Boot Camp update, then boot into Windows XP and re-install drivers.

  • TechTool Pro - 4.5.1 Beta 2
    • Fixed issue with eDrive creation/deletion on Intel Macs.

    • Updated to the Volume Structure test.
    • Updated Boot Camp partition detection in eDrive.
    • Updated Macintosh model identification strings.
  • Toast Titanium - 7.1
    • Previewing Apple Lossless audio files in Audio CD format no longer causes a -50 error.
    • Resolves QuickTime Movie video export issues - related to the QuickTime 7.1 update.
    • Resolves menu button highlight issues on Toast authored DVD-Video discs - related to the Mac OS 10.4.6 update.
    • Canceling the User Authentication step during the Toast Setup Assistant no longer causes a -60007 error.
    • The rename file field now moves correctly during scrolling up and down.
    • The content window no longer incorrectly scrolls when no horizontal scrollbar is displayed.
    • Resolves issues related to invalid characters in Mac Only, Mac & PC, and DVD-ROM UDF formats.
    • Resolves issues related to Music DVDs - audio playing back too slowly and static sound with some files at higher quality settings.
    • Resolves issues related to AppleScript - script was causing a -43 error.
    • Media Browser now correctly parses a YesVideo DVD with still images.
    • Includes an updated version of Deja Vu which preserves existing symlinks.

  • iTunes - 6.0.5
    • iTunes 6.0.5 allows you to sync your Nike + iPod workout data to nikeplus.com, where you can easily track your progress, set training goals, challenge others, and much more. Visit the Nike Sport Music area on the iTunes Music Store to download workout mixes, Athlete Inspiration playlists, Nike podcasts, and more.
  • Quicktime - 7.1.2
    • QuickTime 7.1.2 addresses an issue previewing iDVD projects. This update is recommended for all QuickTime 7 users.
  • Macbook Pro Firmware - 1.0.1
    • Adjusts fan behavior to lower operating temperatures.
  • Mac OS X 10.4.7
    • preventing AFP deadlocks and dropped connections
    • saving Adobe and Quark documents to AFP mounted volumes
    • Bluetooth file transfers, pairing and connecting to a Bluetooth mouse, and syncing to mobile phones
