  • Some Classic applications may not function properly from a System Folder that can't be written to.
  • Best workaround is to put your Classic System Folder on a read-only disk image, then hack the "Classic Startup" application to mount the image as read-write with a shadowfile. Mike Bombich conveniently packaged this solution (originally by us and Jeff Greene at UC Boulder) into his ShadowClassic application.

  • Ensures that each user starts with a pristine System Folder.
