Negative Transcript

By: Richard Glaser - Revised: 2006-05-31 devin

A negative transcript is a file that lists file system objects that aren't managed, but must exist on the client. Only some attributes are check. For example, for directories mode, UID (User ID), GID (Group ID) and if listed, Finder information are check, but the directory itself will not be read.

Note, you can use multiple negative transcripts to manage clients. For, example you can have one primary negative used for operating system and additional negatives used for logs or default configurations.
